Bertha Shepard Moore

Bertha Shepard Moore, “Bebe”, 85, of Crawfordville, FL, was called peacefully home to our Lord on August 28, 2024. Bebe was born on October 30, 1938, in White Sulphur Springs, Montana to mother Harriet Broadbent who passed away when Bebe was just 3 years old. Bebe was raised by her aunt Ruth in Montana. They later moved to Oregon, where she graduated from high school in 1956. In 1958, she met her first husband, Larry Shepard. They moved to Tallahassee, Fl where they married and had a son, but later divorced. She then met the love of her life, Amos Lee Moore in 1969 and married on November 9th, 1973. They spent a lifetime of smiles, happiness and love raising their children together. Bebe spent her career working for Florida State University in the office of Undergraduate Studies. She was an avid FSU Seminole fan. She was feisty, smart, caring, loving, and a phenomenal southern cook. She was the classic southern mama. There was nobody Bebe wouldn’t help or comfort in a time of need if she could. She loved crocheting, gardening, music, fires, western movies, puzzles, fresh and saltwater fishing as well as dancing, camping and hunting. Bebe was amazing at crossword puzzles and wouldn’t quit until she completed every one. Bebe was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Amos Lee Moore, son Amos Gregory Moore, daughter Shelley Mae Moore, grandchildren Sage Mykell Moore and Brianna Belle Paul, as well as extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Harriet Broadbent, Aunt (Momma) Ruth Broadbent, sister Merle Huntley, sister Julia Beam, brother Gene Huntley, brother Ray Huntley, brother Wyman Dunlap, brother Marvin Watts, son Michael Wayne Shepard, step-son Shannon Wayne Shepard, nephew Nicholas Glenn Moore, brother-in-law Ernest Glen Moore, mother-in-law Ethel Mae Miller, father-in-law Ary Jay Miller, her grandparents, great grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Big Bend Hospice.
