Silas Overton Raker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Silas Overton Raker, 93 of Woodville, Florida passed away on June 20, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Ivan Community to Glover Bostic Raker and Lois Griffin Raker. He worked as a watch engineer for the City of Tallahassee, Purdom Plant. After retirement, he worked for Wakulla Gas for ten years. He was married to Betty Jane Walker Raker for 48 years. He was also blessed to be married to his second wife, Laveda Hodge Raker for 13 years, who was his high-school sweetheart. Silas loved to fish and spend time at the house he built in the North Carolina mountains. He was veteran of the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wives, and grandson, Silas “Sie” Raker. Survivors include his children, Overton Raker (Alice), Patricia Crosby (Bruce), Marilyn Granger (Rodney), Nannie Woodward (Eddie) and Beth VanSchaick (Robert); 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
