John "Cajun John" Willie Bergeron Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

On April 29th, 1942, John Willie Bergeron (also known to his many friends as “Cajun John” was born to Ludivoc Bergeron and Bertha Breaux. God called his name at the age of 79 on February 23, 2022. John was born in Louisiana but became a life-long resident of Crawfordville, FL for thirty three (33) years. John was a hard worker with the City of Tallahassee in construction and he enjoyed his work whatever he had to do. John left the City of Tallahassee after a few years due to his health issues. However, it didn’t stop him from doing something else. John tried for the next two years to learn how to cook peanuts until he perfected it. Then he became a peanut salesman and called himself “Cajun John Peanuts" which turned out to be a good decision. For the next 20 years John sold regular and spicy peanuts and at one time had five (5) stands around Tallahassee, FL until his illness prevented him from working. John met his wife Cleo Thomas while working together at Riverside Health Clinic, they became good close friends and became husband and wife in May 1978. John is preceded in death by his parents, Ludivoc Bergeron and Bertha Breaux, his sisters: Barbara Noel, Mary B. Taylor (Connie), Anna Samms, Eva Solomon, and Eunice Diggles, his brothers: Paul Bergeron Clarence “Pete” Bergeron, Rodney (Ludivoc), Robert (Von) Bergeron and Elgi Breaux. John leaves to mourn his wife Cleo Cobon-Bergeron of forty five (45) years, Sons: John Terry (Leatha) Bergeron, Joseph (Tina) Bergeron, Robert Thomas, Jermaine (Tamaria) Thomas, Marlon Thomas, Willie (Luisa) Bergeron and Steven Costelloe. Daughters: Delana (Robert) Williams, Walea (Stacey) McDonald. Brothers: Claybert (Emily) Collins, and Joe Breaux. Sisters: Linda (Alfred) England, Gayle (Wayne) Barlow, Georgiana (Carl) Bonner, and Delores Brown, Grandchildren: Twenty one (21) Greatgrandchildren: Eighteen (18) and a host of relatives, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2022, 10:00-11:00 am at Family Funeral Home in Harvey Young Chapel, and the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am.
