James "Jim" Edward Day Jr.

James Edward Day, Jr., 75, of Woodville, FL, peacefully entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 19, 2021 at his home, surrounded by family. He was born May 31, 1946, in Tarpon Springs, FL to James and Velma Day. Jim proudly served 12 years in the United States Air Force, including several overseas tours. He returned to Florida and began his career installing and repairing radiology equipment. Jim was an avid fisherman and shared that love with his children and grandchildren. A history buff, he enjoyed sharing all he knew about the military, aircrafts, boats, guns, and he never missed an opportunity to educate others. Jim enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything else in life, especially the time he spent with his loving and devoted wife Cathy. Jim is preceded in death by his parents James and Velma (McFather) Day, and his brother Wayne Day. He is survived by his wife Catherine Day, children Marlin Day (Joanna), James M. Day (Judi), Marcia Day (Ron), Lynda Owens (Justin), Jennifer Cogburn (John), Jessica Blake (Christopher), Jennifer Patnode (Craig), JoAnna Emanual (Brett), sister-in-law Carolyn Day, 21 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Jim will be greatly missed by his family and friends. An interment with Military Honors for James will be held Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Parkway, Tallahassee, Florida 32311.
