Elma Cutchin

December 5, 1945 - January 30, 2016

Elma Louise Braren Cutchin, a child of God, went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2016. She was 70 years old. Elma was born on December 5, 1945. She was a resident of Wakulla County most of her life. Flowers and beautifying her home were her passion. She spent countless hours working in her yard; a yard that could have been featured in Better Homes & Gardens. She also maintained a sparkling clean home at all times. Her dirty was most people’s clean. She married the love of her life, Gene Cutchin, and their relationship was one that exemplified utmost respect, love and total devotion. They were a team to be reckoned with. Together, they were Gene Cutchin Construction. She ran the office side of the operation, made color, lighting and fixture selections, landscaped, and cleaned the houses her husband built. She was a very hard worker who rarely slowed down. She was known for being able to outwork most men. She was also extremely intelligent, kind and caring; a true angel here on earth. She received a homecoming fitting for the angel she was here on earth – a helicopter ride from Shands Care to her front door. After arriving home, she received around the clock care from Big Bend Hospice. She was the first patient to receive the recently reinstated around the clock care until she made her final trip to her heavenly home. She will be missed beyond words. She is predeceased in death by her parents, Eleanor Louise Graddick and Walter Reynold Braren, Jr; her brother, Ralph Durward Braren; and her grandson, Chad Timothy Roberts. She is survived by her loving husband of 30 years, Gene Cutchin; her children: Teresa M. Wollschlager (Tom), J. Suzanne ‟Susie” Harris (Tony), Phillip W. Musgrove, Jr. (Amanda), and Sonya Cutchin; a sister Jacqueline Dale ‟JB” Blanchet; and brother, Walter R. ‟Buddy” Braren, III (Dianne); five grandchildren: Mandy K. Ferrell (Scott), Warren P. Wollschlager, Macey B. Musgrove, Kayla B. Harris, and Ashley Alexander; and two great grandchildren, Laila G. Ferrell and Madalyn R. Ferrell. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at River of Life church, 445 Donaldson-Williams Rd, Crawfordville, FL. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. At the conclusion of the service, friends and family are invited graveside. Her final resting place will be at Crawfordville Cemetery.
