Charles Everett Deal Sr. 86, of Crawfordville, died May 28, 2016 at home surrounded by the love of his family after a long fight with a rare form of cancer, peripheral T-cell lymphoma. He was born in Tennessee but spent his entire life in Florida. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years Peggy Ann Keller Deal. He served his Country as a United States Marine 1952-1954, was a founding member of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Wakulla Unit, where he retired as a major after 45 years of dedicated volunteer service, a member of the American Legion, had a reputation as an expert Diesel Marine Mechanic well into his 70's and was sought after all along the Forgotten Coast. He is survived by 3 children Charles E. Deal Jr. (Jennifer), Linda Flippo (Bill) & Daniel Deal (Katie), 11 grandchildren Michael Holbert, Mandy Deal (Jason), Kim Dyke (Ricky), Lee Hobby (Tonya), Jennifer Nagy (Scott), Hillary Deal, Tori Deal, Chad Deal, Richard Deal, Ben Deal & Jeffery Deal, 10 great grandchildren Morgan Carraway, Scott Nagy, Sam Nagy, Sadie Hobby, Kyra Hobby, Nolan Hobby, Dixie Delaney, Cade Gibson, Chesney Dyke & Ramsey Dyke, 2 sisters Edith Butler (Claire) & Alice Carruth (Norris) and dear friends Betty & Barry Glover. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016, 11:00 am at Pioneer Baptist Church 486 Beechwood Drive, Crawfordville. Contributions may be made to Big Bend Hospice/Wakulla.
