Thomas Henry Raynor III

In remembrance of Thomas Henry Raynor, III who passed on Friday, December 11, 2020. He was born on May 29, 1948 in Miami, Florida, the eldest son of Thomas Henry Raynor, II (deceased) and Teresa Jeffries Raynor (deceased). He is the eldest sibling of Ron Raynor, Carol Ann Raynor Lawson, Bobby Raynor (deceased) and Chris Raynor. Tom spent his early childhood in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania before moving to Hialeah, Florida and then to Melbourne, Florida where he met his future wife, Kathleen Fleck Raynor. They were happily married for 51 years and have three children: Keith Raynor (Megan Watson Raynor), Michelle Raynor Handegard (AJ Handegard) and Lance Raynor (Tan Eakapong Sirinumas) and five grandchilden (Kathryn, Audrey, Sebastian, Santana, and Kai), as well as two pugs (Miss Daisy and Milo). Tom served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam era in the Nuclear Power program. While in the Navy, Tom and his young bride and son, Keith, accompanied him to numerous military bases in the Northeast and later settled in South Florida. In Florida, their family grew to include Michelle “Mickie” and Lance. The family relocated to Tallahassee in 1983. Tom and Kathy finally settled in Crawfordville, FL, where they lived for the last 30 years. Their final home was most special to him because of its peaceful tranquility. Tom’s family and friends remember him as a kind, intelligent, generous, thoughtful and protective human being. Often recognized as an old soul, he lived his life with positive optimism and a strong spiritual foundation. His guiding principles were to treat others with kindness, love and respect. Many will remember him for his jokes and funny stories and his magical coin and pencil tricks, whose secrets remain hidden. Tom’s musical talents were best heard through his resonant, bass voice and the glorious songs he sang for his church choir and for family members. Family birthdays always included a call from Tom that featured a solo serenade of the birthday song. His love of sports was unquenchable and his knowledge of football and baseball stats was undeniable. One of his goals was to attend a ballgame in every major league stadium in the US. His approach to business as a financial advisor, specializing in insurance and annuities, was not whether he'd make a sale or not, but whether he could be kind, caring and helpful in that individual’s life. He was a resounding success! His family and friends have been blessed by Tom’s enormous love and wisdom and they know he will watch over them and help them to soar to the same spiritual heights that he did.
