Pearl Oliver Vause

Pearl Oliver Vause, 103, of Woodville, passed away peacefully, July 19, 2021, with her loving family. She was born in St. Marks, Florida on October 15, 1917, to her parents Ernest & Linnie Oliver and she remained in this area her entire life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Woodville, where she was very active teaching Sunday School, Training Union, and always active with her church family and the community. Mrs. Vause married Cajah Floyd Vause when she was 15 years old until he passed after 74 years of marriage and they raised two children. She loved to cook and was a wonderful cook. Her family remembers her tomato gravy & rice with her “little biscuits”, butter rolls and tea cakes. She always cooked for everyone’s birthday and always made their favorite food. Predeceased by her husband Cajah Floyd Vause, daughter Floy Ann Vause Watson, son Philip Oliver Vause Sr., 2 granddaughters Melissa DeLoach Watson & Kim Williams Vause and 8 siblings Fred, LE, Robert, Elmer, Doris, Annie Mary, Bond & Myrtle. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Loyce Vause, 5 grandchildren Cynthia Ann Vause, William Michael Watson, Philip Oliver Vause Jr. (Robin), Shane Eric Vause & Michele Vause Lawhon (Chris) and 7 great grandchildren Philip Oliver Vause III, Mitchell Andrew Vause, Cajah Alan Vause, Remie Shane Vause, Taylor Lawhon Lentz (Nick), Trenton Wayne Lawhon and Jessica Ann Bono (Nicholas). The family will receive friends on Friday, July 23, 2021, 1:00-2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Woodville and the Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at the Oliver Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Eden Springs for their compassionate care given to their mother and grandmother.
