A Life Well-Lived Deborah H Gerrell, 61, of Crawfordville. passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 26, 2025, after a life full of joy, laughter, and an unwavering love for every single day. Born on February 17, 1964, in Monticello, FL, Deborah believed that life was an adventure to be savored, not just a journey to be completed. It was on one of Deborah’s adventures that she met the love of her life, Mark Gerrell, and from that day forward for the next four decades the two were inseparable. They spent their time together exploring the outdoors, camping, jeep riding, bogging, taking river trips in their speed boat or air boating on the Wacissa River, and always welcoming new friends on their journey. Deborah's vibrant spirit was evident to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her infectious smile or mischievous wink could light up any room; Deborah made a lasting impression on all. Friends and family will remember her for making even the simplest moments feel special with her unique style, gestures and “Tweety Bird” attitude. Deborah worked alongside Mark at Wakulla Pools for thirty plus years, then went to work at the State of Florida; Bureau of Elder Affairs where she was known for her compassion and dedication in helping others. However, her true passion was riding her golf cart and metal detecting around her property, looking for special rocks, and taking care of her fur babies. She could often be found on the air boat with a fishing pole in her hand directing Mark where she wanted to go or just enjoying time with friends. Deborah is survived by her loving spouse, George Mark Gerrell; their children, Michael Gerrell (Kelly) , Mindy McCallum (Lee), Josh Clark (Amy); grandchildren, Madyson Zinser (fiancé William Chastain), Connor (fiancé Vivian Gacek), Colby Zinser, Cole Gerrell, Macy Zinser, Carly Gerrell, Tripp McCallum, Kayelee , Oakley McCallum; Hunter Clark, Holdon Clark, and Hayden Clark; great-grandchildren, Colter Chastain; mother Opal Howell, sister Tracy Watford (Craig) and a wide circle of friends who were considered family. She was preceded in death by her father Edward Howell and sister, Theresa Tadlock. A graveside service will be held to honor Deborah’s beautiful spirit at the Gerrell’s Home, 208 Jim French Road, Crawfordville, FL 32327, on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm. As Deborah often said, "Kindness is the way," and we will all do our best to honor that legacy.
