Zona M. Green

Zona Marie Green, 86, of Crawfordville, Florida, traveled to her forever home on October 29th, 2022, at 6:29 pm. She was so loved by everyone she met. There was no such person as a stranger. Once a person of any age came into contact, they were welcomed along with their pets. No one was ever hungry around Zona as she would feed everyone. Zona was an amazing cook which will be carried on by family, friends, and caregivers as she was always willing to teach as well. Zona was a remarkable person that has accomplished many different experiences in her life. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mom, mamaw, mentor and friend to so many. You each know who you are to her and will keep her in your heart with all the memories of her. Zona was born in Kirbyville, Missouri on July 20th, 1936, at home. When Zona spoke of her birthplace, she referred to Forsyth Missouri. Her mom and dad moved their family to Oklahoma at some point where she married and raised her family. She gained 6 stepchildren, overnight later in the marriage then added a daughter of her own. “The Best Mom in the Universe” is a title she will always hold. To say “she loved them all” would be an understatement. Even after all children became adults they were always on her heart where she continued to pray for each no matter the contact, she had with them. Then she helped with another child when her ex-husband was ill, she moved in and helped a couple of years with his young daughter. She lived in Missouri until April of this year then she moved to Florida with part of her family. She lived her last months from June in Eden Springs Nursing and Rehab where she had excellent care, love and support. Big Bend Hospice was added when more support and love was needed for the last month of life in which they were the best for her and her family. She had many others that are now family that she lived with in the facility in which she worked puzzles, joked, shared stories, and friendship as each one becoming part of her family. She has an exponential amount of family that will remember and love her forever. When Zona was employed for so many years, she had the opportunity to experience and learn many different roles. While married to the father of her children, with her husband by her side she worked as a photographer for Olan Mills way back in the days (before she had any of the children) when the company would rent a motel room in different towns and people, families, with and without pets would make an appointment and come for their pictures to be taken. They also hauled minnows in a minnow truck from the northern states back to the Oklahoma area. They also owned and operated a bait shop with a café and convenience store as a one stop shop at Hulah Lake, Oklahoma for many years. During this time, they brought in an elderly couple that they met to live with them to give them a better home and quality of life for their last years. They also owned and operated a farm, and then she also worked in a plumbing business. While during the summers she owned and operated firework stands with her daughter. Then she moved to Missouri. In Missouri she managed a restaurant in a theme park in Branson Missouri for years until she retired. There is so much to say about this remarkable woman of God! If you met her, you are blessed.
